CABIN ALTITUDE (Rapid Depressurization)

A
  • Don O2 Maks- Crew Communication Establish
  • check cabin altitude and rate (packs on and outflow valves closed)
  • IF cabin altitude is uncontrollable:
  • SUPRNMRY (PASS) OXY switch…. Push to ON … hold for 1 sec
  • MAIN DECK SIGNALING switch (if installed) ……… Push- descent to lowest safe altitude or 14,000’ (whichever is higher)
  • TO DESCEND:
  • thrust lever idle
  • extend Speedbrakes
  • speed Vmo/Mmo
  • limit airspeed and avoid high loads if structural integrity in doubt

16
Q

Guidelines for approach speed corrections

A

With auto-throttles disconnected:-

  • Add 1/2 steady state headwind + full gust factor
  • max additive 20 knts

*plan to touchdown at Vref + gust factor

Non-normal checklist adjustment:
- non-normal Vref per checklist + wind correction (min 5 knts, max 20 knts)

17
Q

Engine Run up procedures

A

When OAT is 3ºC or below and anti-ice required

GE - run-up to min 60% N1 for 30 sec (interval no greater than 30 mins)

18
Q

Two Engine Inoperative

A
  • Auto-throttle is inop
  • consider fuel jettison
  • No Autoland

LANDING GEAR DOWN IS COMMIT POINT

During Go-Around:

  • Do not use TO/GA
  • set flaps 20
  • retract gear without delay
  • Retract flaps to 1 (may require descent)
  • climb at Vref 30+60 (approx 217 knts @ 300.0 kg)

For Landing:

  • Flaps 10 @ glide slope alive
  • Flaps 20 and Gear Down at G/S intercept
  • Flaps 25 approaching 1,000’ and center rudder trim
19
Q

When complete “RECALL REVIEW”

A
  • prior to accomplishing the approach briefing - PF
  • completion of any NNC (Non-normal checklist) - PF
  • request during checklist procedure flow - CA
20
Q

When to select APP

A

After:

  • ILS tunes and identified
  • on inbound intercept heading
  • loc and g/s pointer appear
  • clearance received
21
Q

Stabilized Approach Criteria

A

Prior to 1000’ AGL:

1) On Flight Path:
- sink rate no greater that 1000 fpm
- For ILS within 1-dot of LOC or GS
- For Non-ILS on VNAV Glide Path or VTK +/- 75’; within 1-dot lateral deviation or 1/2 RNP

2) Configured for Landing
- aircraft configured
- landing checklist complete

3) On Speed
- speed target
- thrust stabilized

22
Q

Engine Warm Up Requirements

A

GE, GEnx:

  • Oil temp above bottom of temp scale
  • 3 mins

PW:

  • Oil temp above lower amber band
  • 5 mins
