Q

What is provided in the EEC Normal mode?

What protection features are provided during engine Ground starts by the EEC?

A
  • Thrust limiting
  • Maintains constant thrust, independent of outside air temperature and pressure.
  • Compensates for bleed requirements
  • Overspeed protection

On the ground, prior to the starter valve cutout:
Recognizes:
No start.
Hot start.
Hung start.
Attempts 3 re-starts automatically, then motors for 30 seconds.

On the ground, after the starter valve cutout:
Recognizes:

Hot start.
Compressor stall.

The EEC will execute an immediate abort.
The EEC executes continuous re-start attempts.

Q

What action should be taken prior to manual selection of EEC alternate mode?

A

• Decrease thrust lever position. Thrust increases when alternate mode is selected manually.

Thrust does not change when the EEC transfers control from normal mode to alternate mode.

Q

What occurs in the autothrottle system when any EEC control is changed to alternate mode?

A

• The autothrottles disconnect but can be reconnected when all EECs have been changed to alternate mode.

Q

What EEC normal mode protection feature is not available in EEC Alternate mode?
