lateral - pterygomaxillary fissure
anterior - posterior wall of maxilla
posterior - pterygoid plates of sphenoid
roof - greater wing of sphenoid
floor - narrowing to palatine canals and pyramidal process of palatine bone

palatovaginal canal - pharyngeal branch of CN V2, naospharynx
pteyrgoid canal - nerve to pterygoid canal, middle cranial fossa
sphenopalatine foramen - sphenopalatine artery (3rd part maxillary), nasopalatine nerve CN V2, posterior superior nasal nerve, nasal cavity
infraorbital fissure - zygomatic nerve CN V2, inferior ophthalmic vein, infraorbital vessels, orbit
pterygomaxillary fissure - 3rd part of maxillary artery, ITF
pterygopalatine canal - greater and lesser palatine nerve CN V2

lateral - coronoid process and ramus of mandible
anterior - superiorly the inferior orbital fissure, inferiorly the posterior wall of maxilla
posterior - styloid process sheath
roof - inferior surface of greater wing of sphenoid and squamous part of temporal bone
floor - medial pterygoid muscle
inferior - no physical boundary so route of infection
