what is pharyngitis?
A
Upper respiratory tract infection, resulting in inflammation of the back of the throat

what causes pharyngitis?
A
Mostly viral, can be caused by streptococcus
Sometimes smoking

How does pharyngitis present?
A
Sore/dry/scratchy throat, difficulty swallowing, redness at back of throat, bad breath, mild cough, swollen neck glands and fever

what is the treatment for pharyngitis?
A
Paracetamol, ibuprofen, lozenges and anaesthetic sprays for pain relief
