-when your breathing stops and starts in your sleep due to upper airway collapse

- overweight

- snoring
- gasping, snorting or choking noises in sleep
- waking up a lot
- headache when you wake up
- daytime sleepiness
- mood swings

investigations?
A
-overnight oximetry

sleep apnoea severity?
A
defined by number of apnoea episodes they have a night
AHI<5 = normal
AHI 5-15= mild OSA
AHI 15-30= moderate OSA
AHI> 30= severe OSA

management?
A
first line- correction of treatable factors e.g. weight loss, alcohol reduction
CPAP
