what is the presentation of influenza?
Myalgia (muscle pain), malaise, abrupt fever, high onset, conjunctivitis, pharyngitis, prostration (complete physical or mental exhaustion), cough (initially dry but can become productive), headache
what are the investigations that are taken place for influenza?
clinical- acute onset, cough and fever and PCR
What are the complications of influenza?
pneumonia, primary influenza or secondary bacterial
what is the treatment for complicated influenza?
antivirals oseltamivir/ zanamivir and antibiotics
what is the treatment for uncomplicated influenza?
antivirals for high risk patients, symptomatic patients and antibiotics
