pectoral region LOs Flashcards
1
Q
sternoclavicular joint
A
sellar/saddle
2
Q
acromioclavicular joint
A
plane/gliding
3
Q
glenohumeral joint
A
ball and socket
4
Q
scapulothoracic joint
A
pseudo-joint necessary for full glenohumeral function
5
Q
coracoclavicular ligament
A
- function: stabilizes acromioclavicular joint limiting medial displacement, protraction, and elevation
- attachments:
- trapezoid: from coracoid process to trapezoid line of clavicle
- conoid: from coracoid process to conoid tubercle of clavicle
6
Q
acromioclavicular ligament
A
- function: stabilizes acromioclavicular ligament
- attachments: superior aspect of acromial end of clavicle to adjacent acromion
7
Q
coracoacromial ligament
A
- function: prevents superior displacement of humeral head fby forming coracoacromial arch
- attachments: lateral border of coracoid process to acromion adjacent to clavicular articulation
8
Q
coracohumeral ligament
A
- functions: reinforces superoanterior aspects of joint capsule
- attachments: base of coracoid process to anterior aspect of greater tubercle
9
Q
costoclavicular ligament
A
- functions: stabilizes sternoclavicular joint, limits elevation of clavicle
- attachments: superior aspect of cartilage of first rib to undersurface of clavicle
10
Q
superior transverse scapular ligament
A
- function: closes suprascapular notch
- attachments: base of coracoid process to medial edge of scapular notch
11
Q
glenoid capsule ligament
A
- attachment: from circumference of glenoid cavity to anatomical neck of humerus
12
Q
glenohumeral ligaments (superior, middle, inferior)
A
- function: stabilizes glenohumeral articulation
- attachments: upper part of medial margin of glenoid cavity to lesser tubercle/anatomical neck
