Repair - efforts return the item to serviceable condition
Overhaul - adds useful life
Reman - like new condition (subject to Walsh Healy)
7 criteria for an effort to be considered reman?
- Required to be completely or substaintially torn down into individual component parts
- Substantially all of the parts are re-worked, rehabilitated, altered, and or replaced
- Parts are reassembled to furnish a totally rebuilt item
- Manufacturing Processes similar to those used in the manufacturing of the item utlizied
- Disassembled components are comingled with existing inventory and lose their identification with respect to a particular item
- Item restored to its original life expectancy
- Work is performed in a facility owned or operated by the contractor
