STAGE 1
MILD symptoms: Unilateral involvement, fatigue, slight changes in walking/posture/face expression, micrographia, poor endurance for previous occupations
STAGE 2
Early stage, bilateral involvement, loss of face expression, soft monotone voice, slurring speech, tremor, stiffness/rigidity of trunk muscles (back & neck pain), stooped posture, general slowing, simultaneous tasks, EF difficulties
STAGE 3
MID STAGE, worse motor symptoms, loss of balance, slow movement, not able to prevent falls, delayed reactions, difficulty sequencing
STAGE 4
SEVERALLY DISABLING- symptoms severe, movement greatly impaired, able to walk/stand without assistance but visibly incapacitated, make need a walker, impossible to live alone, need ADL assistance, fine motor control severeally compromised, oral motor deficits
STAGE 5
MOST ADVANCED - can’t get out of chair/bed without assistance, freeze, stumble when walking/standing, stiff legs, wheelchair or bedridden, 24 hr care, hallucinations & delusions
