pag potato cylinders Flashcards

1
Q

outline method

A
  • use cork borer to cut potato cylinders of same diameter
  • use scalpel and ruler to cut the cylinders into same length
  • measure mass of each cylinder
  • use same volume but different concentration of sugar solution in each test tube, and one water tube
  • one cylinder in each tube for same length of time
  • remove potatoes, pat dry and record final mass
  • calculate percentage mass change
  • graph of sugar conc against percentage mass change
  • sugar conc where line crosses x axis equals sugar conc of potato
