Adult and Paed:
5 international units IM
Oxytocin Pharmacology
Causes rhythmic contraction of uterine smooth muscle, thereby constricting uterine blood vessels. It acts rapidly with a latency period of 2 to 4 minutes following IM injection. The Oxytocic response lasts for 30 to 60 minutes.

Oxytocin Additional Info
Ensure that a second foetus is not in the uterus prior to administration.
Avoid rapid Intravenous injection (may transiently reduse blood pressure).
Store at 2-8°C, shelf life un-refrigerated: 3 months
