Paediatric:
Allergic Reaction
Mild: 6-11years - 2mg PO
≥12 years - 4mg PO
Moderate: <1 year 0.25mg/kg IV/IM
1 - 5 years 2.5mg IM/IV
6 - 11 years 2mg PO, 5mg IV/IM
≥12 years 4mg PO, 10mg IV/IM
Severe/: <1 year 0.25mg/kg IV/IM
Anaphylaxis 1 - 5 years 2.5mg IM/IV
6 - 11 years 5mg IV/IM
≥12 years 10mg IV/IM
Chlorphenamine Pharmacology
Chlorphenamine is a potent antihistamine (H1-receptor antagonist). Antihistamines diminish or abolish the action of histamine in the body by competitive reversible blockade of histamine 1 receptor sites on tissues.
Chlorphenamine also has Anticholinergic activity
Chlorphenamine Side Effects
Causes Drowsiness and patients receiving it should not drive or operate machinery

Epilepsy / Prostatic Hypertrophy / Glaucoma / Hepatic Disease / Bronchitis / Bronchiectasis / Thyrotixicosis / Raised intra-occular pressure / Severe Hypertension / Cardiovascular Disease / Bronchial Asthma
