How many oxygen systems are there in the A320? Where are they?
There are 3 systems.
- A fixed oxygen system and controls in the cockpit
- A fixed cabin oxygen system (drop down)
- Portable oxygen system (smoke hoods and oxygen bottles)
How many fixed oxygen masks are there in the cockpit?
For a 3 seat cockpit (1 observer) = 3, if 4 seats (2 observer seats, then 4)
On the pilot’s oxygen panel, why does the Blinker flash yellow?
Flashes yellow when the oxygen is flowing
What is the N / 100% selector on the panel?
This is the Oxygen Diluter. Enables the pilot to select either 100% or a mixture of oxygen and cabin air.
What setting do we use for Smoke and Emergency Descent?
For Smoke, set the Oxygen Diluter to 100%. For Emergency Descent, set to N to save on oxygen supply
The small red button with the white dot on the mask is the?
Emergency Pressure Selector, provides pressurized oxygen flow for a few seconds for testing. Turning the white dot to the right delivers permanent positive pressure to the mask
What is the Press to Test and Reset control on the panel?
Tests the oxygen flow
Where are the fixed cabin oxygen system located at? (4)
Located in the:
- Above the Pax seats
- Lavatories
- Galley
- Each attendants station
How many emergency oxygen masks above a passenger row?
Two to four masks with one container
How is the oxygen generated in the overhead cabin oxygen masks and how long does it last?
It is chemically generated and supplies oxygen for *13 or 15 mins *(depending on the aircraft)
