Air Conditioning Flashcards
In case of two pack failures, what else is then available?
RAM AIR
What pack parameters are monitored by ECAM?
- Pack flow (controlled by the Pack pb on the overhead panel)
- Compressor outlet temp
- Bypass valve position
- Pack outlet temperature
What monitors the temperatures of the 3 zones and sends signals to the packs to set the air temperature?
The Zone Control Computer
How does the air conditioning set the different temperatures for each zone?
Hot Bleed Air added via trim air valves to obtain the correct temperature for the zones
What is the purpose of the hot air valve? 2
Helps to regulate hot air and acts as a shut off valve
Where does the HOT AIR Valve get it’s hot air supply?
Each pack has a hot air valve (taken from the engines) before the pack, some are routed to the trim air valves. So if the pack valves are closed, there is no supply of hot air to the system
What is the difference between the Zone Duct Temperature and Zone Temperature?
Zone Duct Temperature is the temperature of the air entering into a zone and the Zone Temperature is the actual Zone temperature
Where can you find the indications for ECAM Zone indications? 2
ECAM COND page and Cruise page
How many cabin fans are there?
What is the purpose of the cabin fans?
If the cabin fans fail, is there ECAM?
2 cabin fans
Installed to reduce the bleed air requirement for fuel saving
If failed, no ECAM messages
Can the Cabin fans be controlled? Turned on and off?
No control other than off and on via the Cabin Fan pb on the Ventilation panel
On the Cond page, what are Trim Air Valves?
Used to optimize temperature in each zone by adjusting the amount of hot air added from the hot air bleed
