Avionics Ventilation Flashcards
1
Q
What are the 3 configurations of the Avionic Ventilation system in the auto position or lights out
A
- Open Configuration
A. Only while the ground
B. Air is let in via the Skin Air Inlet Valve blown in via the Blower fan and extracted via the extract fan and blown out via the Skin Air Outlet Valve
C. Temperature is above a certain threshold. Not too cold. - Closed Configuration
A. In flight or if air is too cold on the ground
B. On the ground with Thrust Levers at take off power
C. Both Skin Air Inlet and Outlet Valves are closed. Blower and extract remain on
D. Air is expelled through the Cargo Underfloor and out via the Outflow Valve
E. Skin Heat Exchanger is used to cool the circulated air - Intermediate Configuration
A. This configuration is used when warm ambient conditions occur during flight
B. On the ground with the thrust levers at take off power (moving to the closed circuit configuration)
C. The Skin Air Inlet Valve is closed. Blower is on, Extract is on and the Skin Air Outlet Valve is open half way (to let out some heat)
D. Air is expelled through the Cargo Underfloor and out via the Outflow Valve
