Q

What does the pneumatic system heat? How do we activate the anti ice system for this?

A

Q

How are the engines heated? How do we turn on the heat for this? What happens in case of a fault in the electric power supply, des the valve stay open or close?

A
  1. Each engine air intake is anti iced by an independent air bleed from the high pressure compressor
  2. Through the ENG 1 or 2 pb on the anti ice panel
  3. Stays open

Q

What does electrical heating heat? How do we activate this?

A
1. It heats:
A. Windshield and anti
B. Icing and cockpit side C. window de fogging
D. The AOA probes
E. The TAT probes
F. The Pitot probes
G. The Static Ports
H. The water waste drain mast (on the ground, the heat is reduced to prevent injury to personnel)
  1. Through the Probe/Window Heat pb on the anti ice overhead panel

Q

Selecting Wing Anti Ice increases Idle Thrust and reduces the EPR limit. What would be the negative effect to this?

A

Reducing EPR limit can reduce a climb and increasing Idle Thrust can increase the descent profile, compensate by extending the speed brakes

Q

What do you expect to happen to the wing anti ice upon landing?

A

It will shut off, amber fault light will appear. This means the valve is off and the pb is set to on. Turn off the pb to remove the fault.
