Poverty

No care homes or pension so old dependant will need their children to take care of them
Polygamy
Early marriages girls often don’t go to school to learn
Agriculture based society(need people to collect water and farm)
High infant mortality- not many medical facilities and vaccines available for all
CONSEQUENCES
45% are living in poverty
Pressure on resources- many migrate to the city which strains in resources leads to causes of pollution and congestion leading to high inflation cause of high demand.
Unemployment-to jobs leading to poverty which they make the children work for the money needing more children
Pollution- traffic causes a release of exhaust fumes chains air pollution
Lack of jobs- high unemployment rate, people takes jobs like trafficking and prostitution to make money the people can’t get better jobs cuz of bad education system
Deforestation- climate change global warming
SOLUTION
Education on contraception and make contraception widely available
Improvement in family planning
Improve in public healthcare to lower the infant mortality rate
Advertise campaign
Develop the education system make it available to all children
Define overpopulation
Too many people to be supported to a good standard of living by an area resource
Why is it so densely populated
Fertile region-means Bangladesh is able to sustain such a population due to the amount of food
—> attracting farmers and others to live there
Increased subsistence farming as 4/5th live in rural areas
Rural to urban migration in Dhaka
—>increased poverty so increase need of children for the development of the economy
