Pearl delta is in republic of China in the low lying surrounding the Pearl river estuary where it flows into South China Sea
—> Guangdong province , on the coast of the South China Sea

Worlds workshop and is major manufacturing base for products
All this manufacturing create lots of pollution the Pearl river delta is notorious polluted with sewage’s and industrial waste
Effect
50% of factory water is released into the river is untreated.the Pearl river is completely lifeless and polluted
Pollution is a great risk to the Chinese white dolphins that inhabit the area
Deforestation-all the local upland area have been completely deforested, increased surface run off is causing soil erosion throughout the region
Air pollution: factories produces CO2 , Noxs and these form acid rain.
-> 2-3 times higher than the other provinces
80% of all rain is classified as acidic caused by a high concentration of factories ping put harmful gases and growing number of cars
-> heath problems especially people with asthma
Overcrowding ,urbanisation slum: rapid migration means that new towns and slums , unable to keep space with the growth , have no sewage system so disease is an issue

Apples manufacturing is done by a Chinese company called Foxconn who are based in a 1.4 square mile complex in Shenzhen , languages complex. 140000 employees manufacture apples products
Future management
By 2020 China plans to generate 20% of electricity from renewable sources
Desulphurisation technology are being applied to china’s coal power station
Government aims to cut chemical pollution levels by 15%
-needs international support from foreign TNCs in the region
Industries in the delta make over $448 billion a year
The city will build about 30 water treatment 2.25 million tonnes of water per day the program hopes to cut down the amount of sewage’s in the area by 85%
96 million dollar loan from world bank to Chinese government to reduce water pollution has spent $7.1 billion to clean up the Pearl river
