otic ganglion Flashcards
Otic ganglion relays secretomotor fibers ton
parotid gland
It is a part of what nerve
glossopharangeal nerve
Parasympathetic and sympathetic root come from
parasympathetic from lesser petrosal nerve
Sympathetic from plexus around middle meningeal
Sensory root of otic ganglion comes from
Auricotemporal nerve
Graph of secretomotor fibers to parotid gland
pregnaglionic fibers from inferior salivatory nucleus - glossopharyngeal nerve- tympanic branch- tympanic plexus- lesser petrosal nerve - optic ganglion- postganglionic fibers- joined by auticotemporal nerve - parotid gland
Other 2 fibers passing through the ganglion
Nerve to medial petrygoid goes through the ganglion but does not reply and supplies the tensor veli palitini and tensor tympani
Chords tympani nerve is associated with otic ganglion
