What is it (Orthostatic Hypotension)
A
Systolic or diastolic BP drops more than 10 mm HG and heart rate increases by 10-120 when client changes position (lying, sitting, and standing) BP down HR up

How will a client feel?
A
Dizzy, light-headed, unsteady

How to assess for orthostatic hypotension?
A
Check BP while client is lying down, sitting up, and standing. Wait five minutes between measurements

What is the treatment?
A
IV fluids for volume replacement
