Securing SAFETY is #1!
If emergency situations occurs, the captain shall take the necessary measures for securing safety.
SQUAWK 7700 & Report to ATC
If an emergency situation occurs, the captain shall transmit a transponder signal Mode A Code 7700 and quickly report it to ATC unit and ground personnel, operations.
Maintain close contact with ATC/SR/FD
In emergency situations, the captain shall maintain close contact with ATC unit, Search and Rescue Authorities and the flight dispatcher etc. and give sufficient consideration to advise or suggestion from them.
Notify, it’s the law
The captain shall notify relevant authorities or the flight dispatcher as soon as possible when he/she deviates from relevant law and regulations or company regulations in an emergency situation.
Inform CA’s
If possible, the captain shall inform cabin attendants of any emergency situation.
Command pax for safety, inform CA’s of emergency
The captain shall command all persons on board about what he considers necessary for safety under the circumstances (emergency evacuation, etc.), if situation allows. If cabin attendants are on board, the captain shall inform cabin attendants of any emergency situation as much as possible.
