Q

Aborted Engine Start

A

Condition: During a ground start, one or more of the following abort start conditions occur.

  • the EGT does not increase by 25 seconds after the fuel control switch is moved to run.
  • there is no N1 rotation by 30 seconds after N2 is stabilised at idle.
  • the EGT quickly nears or exceeds the start limit.
  • the oil pressure indication is not normal by the time that the engine is stabilised at idle.

1/ FUEL CONTROL switch (affected side) … CUTOFF

A

1/ Don the oxygen masks.

2/ Establish crew communications

3/ Check cabin altitude and rate.

4/ IF the cabin altitude is uncontrollable:

—- PAX OXY switch … Push and hold for 1 second

– Emergency descent … Initiate

– Thrust Levers (both) … Idle

2/ Establish crew communications

3/ IF occupants in main cargo compartment or lavatory:

    • MAIN CARGO / ALERT Switch … Push
  • — Ensure all occupants return to flight deck

4/ Check cabin altitude and rate.

4/ IF the cabin altitude is uncontrollable:

– Emergency descent … Initiate
