Oce Outcomes Flashcards
History of falls questionnaire
Ax the circumstances surrounding a fall including: activities prior to fall, perceived cause, environment factors and description of injuries
Disability rating scale
Tracks recovery of an individual from coma to community
Used w individual w moderate to severe TBI
Glasgow coma scale
Measure for level of consciousness
Moderate brain injury 9-12
Quanto mais alto o score melhor
Ranchos los amigos level of cognitive functioning
Ppl recovery of brain injury
Modified Ashworth scale
Measures spasticity
Score 0-no increase in muscle tone
Score 4- affected parts rigid in flex or extension
Tardieu scale
Measures spasticity
Fma Fugl-Meyer Assessment
Evaluates and measures recovery in post-stroke hemiplegic pts
Stroke impact scale
Self report questionnaire
Evaluates disability and health related quality of life agter a stroke
Chedoke mc master stroke Ax
Ax physical impairment and disability following a stroke
Multiple sclerosis impact scale
Self report measure that evaluates the physical and physiological impact of MS
Parkinson disease questionnaire
Self report questionnaire
Mmt manual muscle test
Uses Graded muscle testing to monitor change in muscle strength over time
Goniometry
Meauseres of joint rom
Functional movement’s
Ax biomechanics, ease of movements, reports of pain
Single/double leg hop height/distance
Squat
Step up/down
Lifting
Carrying
CP patients
Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM-88 and GMFM-66
To assesses mobility, balance, walking ability, and fall risk in older adults.
TUG
A scale ranging from 0 to 10 where patients rate their pain intensity.
Visual Analog Scale (VAS)
Similar to VAS, but patients rate their pain on a scale from 0 to 10.
Numeric pain Rating Scale
S comprehensive tool that assesses the quality and intensity of pain.
McGill Pain Questionnaire
Primarily used for patients with low back pain, it assesses the degree of disability related to daily activities.
Oswestry Disability Index (ODI)
Another tool for low back pain, focusing on disability levels.
Roland-Morris Disability Questionnaire (RMDQ)
Assesses a person’s ability to perform activities of daily living independently.
The Functional Independence Measure (FIM)
Measures functional mobility, often used for elderly or post-surgical patients.
Timed Up and Go (TUG)
Balance and Coordination: 3 outcomes measures
Berg Balance Scale (BBS): A clinical test used to assess balance in older adults.
Dynamic Gait Index (DGI): Measures a patient’s ability to perform various tasks while walking.
Timed “Up & Go” Test (TUG): A test for balance, agility, and functional mobility.
Specifically used for patients with osteoarthritis.
Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC)
Assesses physical function and symptoms in people with upper extremity musculoskeletal conditions.
The Disability of the Arm, Shoulder, and Hand (DASH) Score
Focuses on neck pain and its impact on daily activities
Neck Disability Index
Assesses aerobic capacity and endurance, often used in patients with heart or lung conditions.
6-Minute Walk Test
A comprehensive tool used to assess motor function, balance, sensation, and joint function in stroke patients.
Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA)
Assesses gross motor function in children with cerebral palsy and other motor disorders.
GMFM (Gross Motor Function Measure)
A standardized assessment of motor development in children from birth to 5 years old.
Peabody Developmental Motor Scales (PDMS-2)
: Often measured with a dynamometer to assess hand strength.
Grip Strength Measurement
Assesses walking speed and gait, often used for patients with neurological conditions like stroke or Parkinson’s.
10-Meter Walk Test (10MWT)
Self report rating regarding a pts perception of their effort and exertion, breathlessness and fatigue during a physical work
Borg scale
Modified version 0-10( 10 maximal exertion)
Purpose: A shorter version of the
6MWT, useful for patients who may not be able to sustain a full 6-minute
walk due to severe deconditioning or fatigue.
• Context: It’s typically used for patients with very limited mobility, such as those recovering from surgery or with significant cardiopulmonary limitations.
2-Minute Walk Test (2MWT)
Neck pain
