Is an autoimmune condition which presents as the body transitions back from the immunosuppressed state of pregnancy to normal immunity.

Postpartum thyroiditis can present for up to 1 year following delivery, but most frequently occurs 3-4 months post-partum. The hyperthyroid phase should be treated with :
- BETA- BLOCKERS and NOT antithyroid drugs.
