Growth Plate
A
Also known as the epiphyseal plate or physis.
The area of growing tissue near the end of the long bones in children and adolescents. Each long bone has at least two growth plates.

Damage to Growth Plate
A
Look up where the growth plates are.
If damaged, the child may need to have their growth plate shut off on the other side to ensure one limb doesn’t grow longer than the other.
