Anterior Shoulder Dislocation
The most common upper extremity injury.
Mechanism of injury is usually a posteriorly directed force to an abducted and extended arm.
Bankart Lesion
Detachment of the labrum and inferior glenohumeral ligament from anterior glenoid. Makes it more likely to pop out again.
Hill-Sachs Lesion
Dent in the humeral head. Fracture from the glenoid during dislocation.
Posterior Shoulder Dislocation
Less common, but still seen.
Usually the result of electricity, epilepsy, or EtOH withdrawal.
