A
  1. Dilates vessels in peripheral circulation resulting in:
    a. DECREASED PERIPHERAL RESISTANCE
    B. DECREASE BP
  2. DECREASE WORKLOAD ON HEART
  3. DILATES CORONARY ARTERIES
  4. Dilates vessels in smooth muscle
  5. Improves CO in patients with CHF

A

ACS dose: .4mg SL every 5 min x 3 with BP > 100, total max dose = 2mg
CHF dose:
a. distress and BP >100 - .4mg SL every 3-5 min, total max dose 2mg
