Episodic memory
A
- Store for personal events.
- Memories of when events occurred and of the people, objects, places and behaviours involved.
- Memories in this store have to be retrieved consciously and with effort.
- Example: A wedding

Semantic memory
A
- Store for knowledge of the world.
- Includes facts and our knowledge of what words and concepts mean.
- Memories have to be recalled deliberately and with effort.
- Example: Knowing London is the capital city of England.

Procedural memory
A
- Store for knowledge of how to do things.
- Includes memories of learned skills through experience.
- Usually recall these memories without making a conscious or deliberate effort.
- Example: Knowing how to walk.
