What are 7 roles/responsibilities for a MCI?
IC
Triage
Extrication
Treatment
Staging officer
Transportation officer
Support/supply.
What is incident command?
Basically the leader.
Acts as coordinator for all sectors
Guides communication pathways
Assists in getting the resources that sectors need.
What is triage?
Decided who is priority
Triage DOES NOT treat
What is extrication/pt. Recovery?
Goes out into incident zone and retrieves pt and brings them to appropriate triage/treatment zone.
What is treatment officer?
Guides/directs treatment of patients in their zone.
Divides resources appropriately to patients that are in need and tries to maximize resource use to viable patients.
What is a staging officer?
Guides or directs incoming resources.
Creates staging area that is generally outside the incident zone and directs resources into the zone which is directed by IC.
What is transport officer?
Divides up outgoing pt.
Directs up ambulances/ hospitals
Keeps a record of

How many went where
How many of what type of patient went where?
What is support officer?
Often coordinates with the transport,staging and treatment officers.
Get the equipment for the different sectors.
What is intial officer?
Quick.
No real treatment done other than attempts to open the airway.
What is paramount?
Radio channels have been flooded so have back communication plans.
