Two arteries that carry blood from fetus to placenta
One vein carries blood from placenta to fetus

18
Q

What is the placenta?

A

Serves as a source of nutrition, respiration and excretion for embryo/fetus

19
Q

What secretes progesterone and estrogen after 12 weeks of pregnancy?

A

Placenta takes over

20
Q

What prepares the body for the lactation?

A

Placenta
