Lymphatic And Immune System Flashcards
What is lymph?
Clear watery fluid that surrounds body cells and flows in a system of lymph vessels throughout the body
Does lymph contain platelets ?
No
What type of leukocytes are found in lymph?
Lymphocytes and monocytes
Formation of lymph fluid
Fluid that gets filtered out from capillaries enters the interstitial spaces. This becomes the interstitial fluid. When interstitial fluid accumulates, it is picked up by the lymphatic capillaries. Now it is called lymphatic fluid. From lymphatic capillaries, lymphatic fluid then moves into lymphatic vessels and deposits and flows through lymph tissues and then to lymph nodes, which then again empty into the blood stream.
Which lymphocyte produces antibody?
B-lymphocyte
Which lymphocyte attack against foreign body?
T-lymphocyte
Lymph cells are produced where ?
