Is there a difference int he big 5 over time (based on studied)
one study found that there was only for Agreeableness, but when replicated non had differences
Maybe stability depends on time of first assessment?
from 25-55 study showed that here were some stability
for 45-75 there was significant stability
Are some of us stable across time while other are not?
no difference… people aren’t very good at self-reporting; they thought they did change but they didnt

goes up as we age then stays the same
reaches peak around 30

stays flat
how does extroversion (social dominance portion) change
goes up as we age then stays the same
reaches peak around 25
how does openness change
goes up at around 20, stays relatively the same then decreases later in life
how does agreeableness change
up at 25 then again at 50
how does conscientiousness change
up at 30 and again at 60
but overall constant upward trend

Why are we more likely to change between 20 and 30?

Establish Romantic Relationship;
Establish a Career Track;
How is it possible that there is such normative change yet so little change in most people’s rank order?
people change but they remain in same rank order (comparison to others)
