Atheroma
Build up of fatty material on the inside wall of an artery
Atherosclerosis
The progressive narrowing and hardening within an artery potentially resulting in a complete blockage
Plaque formation
Activated platelet
Deposition of chemokine
Adhesion of monocytes
Monocytes migrate and transform into macrophages
Macrophages ingest LDL
Plaque formation (starts as fatty streak)
Claudication

Positive family history
Age
Genetic factors
Hyperlipidaemia, smoking, hypertension, diabetes, lack of exercise, obesity, heavy alcohol consuption
NSTEMI
Partial blockage of major artery
STEMI
