A

Acute inflammation of the colon presenting with the formation of plaque like fibrinous exudate (pseudomembranes) covering parts of the L intestinal mucosa. Caused by overgrowth of C.diff. Patients treated with broad spec abx

Inflammatory bowel disease

A

Chronic inflam of the GI tract: crohn’s and ulcerative colitis.
Crohn’s has skip lesions. Fistula’s can form
Ulcerative colitis is colon only, no skip lesions. Mucosal disease only. Starts in rectum.
