Latoya Case Study Flashcards
V…variable deceleration (down 15 bpm and last 15 sec) - C…cord compression
E…early deceleration (right before or with contraction) - H…head compression
A…accelerations (well oxygenated; everyone happy; up 15 bpm and last 15 sec) - O…oxygenation
L…late deceleration (most concerned about; perfusion prob; start after contraction starts; off set) - P…placenta insufficiency
VEAL CHOP
Take out any changes
1. Rate
2. Variability - marked = vtach - fight between SNS and ANS; Baseline to determine if acceleration/decelaration or not; fetus will have fluctuation all time - immature ANS - look at this - tells us well being of the fetus - moderate - good fluctations; absent variability - drawn with line = not good - ANS not doing what supposed to be doing - absent need intervene - something affecting neurologically: anoxic brain injury - like asystole in adult; min - 0-5 - see tiny changes
3. Accelerations/deccelerations
Variable - reposition her always first - not need an order - have do something to float cord - amnioinfusion
FHR
Careful about charting
High risk drug
Pitocin
Check progress of labor - see why having compression
Not worried
Early decelerations
U, V, W shape
Variable decelerations
Too many uterine contractions
5 in <10 min and closer than 2 min apart - no break for fetus - putting her at risk for hemorrhage or rupture
Tachysystole
