L14B: Conditions of Practice I - III Flashcards

Q

After GMP is selected and movement is completed,
What Four types of information stored in STM?

A

A. Initial conditions of the movement
B. Parameters that were assigned to the
movement (e.g., amplitude/ absolute force or movement time)
C. Outcome feedback about the movement
D. Sensory Consequences of the movement

Q

What can we do to enhance the schema?

A

Variability of practice enhances the schema

Practicing a variety of movements with same GMP (different parameters, initial conditions) will help form strong schemas.
– Extensive parameter & condition experiences will lead to less uncertainty and error
– Better able to estimate parameters & sensory consequences
