Adult dose

A

IM: 4 mg/kg (max dose of 400 mg)
IV loading dose: 2 mg/kg
IV maintenance infusion: 0.05 mg/kg/hr

Special Considerations

A

Pregnance class C (no studies in women. drug should only be given if benefit justifies risk to fetus). Ketamine may increase BP, HR, and muscle tone. Ketamine should not be given to patients with kidney or renal failure. Keep patients in a quit environment if possible.
