Indication

A

Evidence of cerebral herniation in patients with increase ICP: unconscious patient with unilateral pupillary dilation and or posturing.
Increased ICP as a result of TBI, intracranial bleeding or ischemic stroke.
Contact medical control before administering.

A

Use largest bore IV available. Label bag to indicate hyper-tonic solution. Watch for extravasation.
