Anticholinergic bronchodilator

A
250mcg in 1ml MDI delivering 21mcg per activation

A
- Bronchodilator
- Blocks vagal reflexes which mediate bronchoconstriction
- Possibly more effective when used in combination with salbutamol
Onset 3-5 mins, duration 2-4 hrs

A
Bronchospasm from any cause, as an adjunct to salbutamol

A
Rare with single dose, occasionally urinary retention

A
Known hypersensitivity

A
Care needs with use in patients with glaucoma

A
Administer with every 2nd dose of salbutamol
Adult (>6 yrs) - 500mcg
- 4 x 21mcg (4 puffs)
Paediatric (<6 yrs) - 250mcg
- 2 x 21mcg (2 puffs)
