vesicle or bulla containing pus
what is erosion?
superficial loss of epidermis, does no scar
ulcer is?
area of tissue loss through the dermis
what is telangiectasia?
dilated blood vessels from rosacea/sun damage
does petechiae blanche? what does it mean?
nope, means injury to vessel
palpable pupura is?
bleeding from vessels, non blanching
alopecia areata is?
autoimmune hair loss to certain areas
sclerosis is?
thickening of skin, hardening of subcutaneous tissue, dermis
champagne bottle legs is kind of sclerosis: lipodermato sclerosis
atrophy in derm is?
wrinkling and thinning of epidermis
derm red flags?
confluent erythma facial, tongue swelling, dysphagia urticaria, pruritis purpura blistering skin pain muscosal involvement change in size, shape, colour of a lesion
TEN is what? what causes it?
toxic epidermal necrolysis from severe drug reaction
common with sulphur containing Abx (eg. bactra), and antiepileptics sore spreading all over
what looks like scaly annular lesions itchy and spreading with central clearing?
tinea corporis
most common spot to find tinea pedis?
between 4th and 5th digit
danger area for herpes simplex?
ophthalmic involvement: corneal scarring
