Evolution of HR management

A

- Before Industrial Revolution: the society was primarily an agriculture economy with limited production, so the crafts were limited as well as the communication channel.
- First Industrial Revolution: the water and coal were used to produce inefficient steam to power machines in the textile industries, the communication and modernization increased. The WELFARE OFFICER was responsible for people’s wage (salaries), record tracking, facilities, and medical care. The labor unions were implemented (employees worked long hours and really low wages so they protest.)
- Second Industrial Revolution: the production increased so the workers improve the immigration and urbanization. They wanted to create more labor unions to protect the workers rights and have a better treatment.
- After Industrial Revolution: different studies were implemented.
1. Frederick W. Taylor (scientific principles): workers training, maintaining wage uniformity and focus on attaining better productivity.
2. Elton Mayo (Hawthorne studies)
3. Abraham Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs
- Digital Revolution: result of globalization and technological development and the achievement is to to align individual goals and objectives with corporate goals and objectives.

12 steps of recruitment and selection process

A

1. Identifying the hiring need: the company implements a new labor position.
2. Writing the job description
3. Considering internal promotion: another person of the company could awarded the new job.
4. Talent search process: publish what the company is looking for in websites.
5. Resumes screening: is the candidate selection process for the best one.
6. Phone call screening: a telephone interview with the candidate to validate its information, economic expectations, etc.
