How did shortages and hardships change the lives of people living in Germany?

A

Point: lead to shortages so limited rationing introduced
evidence: most people are adequately fed but long queues and poor quality food
Analysis: meant the German people were weaker and unhealthy because they didn’t get the nutrition they needed. Also would’ve led to weaker soldiers and children because they’re not getting the necessary nutrition

How did womens roles change?

A

Point: more women join the workforce
Evidence: 1941 1.5 million more women in work
Analysis: huge for women because they got to prove their worth while the men were away which meant they got to experience a completely different life however the amount of women in the workforce was still tiny and sexism was still everywhere

How did childrens lives change?

A

Point: child evacuation programme
Evidence: below 14 had 6 month could have 6 month stay in rural area
Analysis: completely changed the lives of young people who wouldn’t have experienced anything like this before because they’re moved away from their families in a place they don’t know. However not all children did this so for the children that did it had a huge impact but for those who didn’t nothing changed

How did foreign workers lives change?

A

Point: increased use of terror due to nazi paranoia meant workers were being put under extreme conditions
Evidence: 7.6 million foreign workers increased force labour
Analysis: Germany was under great strain so forced workers to work even harder.
