How did free time change?

A

Point: more limited under nazi regime
Evidence: hitler youth compulsory in 1939
Analysis: kids and youth didn’t have much choice because they had to either learn military skills or domestic duties meaning they were bored by their free time and didn’t want to be a part of the nazi regime as much which is shown by the organisations such as swing kids and edelweiss pirates.

Q

How did school change?

A

Point: transformed into training for soldiers and mothers
Evidence: textbooks re written and race subjects introduced
Analysis: nazified school educated impressionable young people in the nazi way so boys working be prepare for war and girls could just produce more soldiers for the nazi war machine. This meant school was completely changed and kids were being prepared for war and to be the next generation of fighters meant they probably weren’t getting the best educational options for academic careers because nazis weren’t focused on it.
