The dukes of Norfolk and Suffolk wrote to Henry urging him to make concessions.

He pardoned them after their appearance in the Star Chamber.
Why did the Lincolnshire Rising in 1536 start?
Started due to the Henrician reformation.
What was included in the Lincolnshire rebel’s manifesto?
It included the abandonment of the subsidy and heretical bishops like Cranmer and Latimer to be removed.
Why did the rebels disperse?
Because a royal reply threatened punishment if they didn’t disperse.
How many Lincolnshire rebels were executed?
57 and then the rest of the Lincolnshire received a royal pardon.
When was the Pilgrimage of Grace?
1536
What happened in the Pilgrimage of Grace?
10,000 rebels took the cities of York, Hull and Pontefact with similar aims to the Lincolnshire rebellion.
What were the 24 Pontefact articles?
They were the list of demands made by the Pilgrimage of Grace rebels and they included the restoration of Mary in line of succession, removal of Cromwell and it attacked the dissolution of the monasteries.
What did Henry VIII do when he rejected the demands of the Pilgrimage of Grace rebels?
He promised pardons for all the ringleaders and the rebels dispersed.

177 as well as the leader of the rebellion Robert Aske.
