A
- religion was a massive part of peoples lives
- all stages of peoples lives would be guided by religion e.g. christening, marriage, death
- people would almost just live for the promise of going to heaven when they died

- there came more of an awareness of how corrupt the church was
- it came to people’s attention how members of the church would use religion as an implementation for economical gain
- as most people were uneducated and illiterate, the members of the church would take advantage of this by suggesting things that wouldn’t necessarily be in the bible

- the rise of protestants (grew bigger in Henry VIII’s reign)
- general dissatisfaction with the church (lawyers, merchants, and doctors)
