> 40 yo male who is of Northern Europe descent
4 main comorbid conditions that is usually associated with dupuytren’s
- Alcohol
- DM
- Pulmonary TB

In general, when treating a dislocated finger joint, how long do you want to buddy splint for?

What is skier’s thumb/gamekeeper’s thumb?
Injury to the ulnar collateral ligament of the MCP joint
How do you treat a gamekeeper’s thumb?
Short arm cast with thumb spica splint for 3-6 weeks
What is jersey finger
Injury to the FDP or FDS
What is mallet finger
Rupture of the extensor tendon of the DIP joint
How do you treat mallet finger
Splint the DIP for 6-8 weeks, then gentle active flexion with night splinting for 2-4 weeks
Bennett vs Rolando fracture
Both are fractures at the base of the thumb metacarpal. Bennett is an oblique fracture and Rolando is a comminuted fracture.

What is a Stener’s lesion?
Palpable mass at the location of the UCL of the thumb MCP due to tearing of UCL. The aponeurosis of the adductor pollicis gets trapped underneath the torn UCL creating the palpable mass.
