What was the purpose of the Royal Proclamation?
To establish the rules of the newly owned British Colony of Quebec and to assimilate the French.
What is the Test Act?
It is part of the Royal Proclamation. It requires a person to be Protestant in order for them to participate in political life. This meant that French people had less rights than English.
What were the territorial changes made to Quebec as a result of the Royal Proclamation?
The territory was greatly reduced. Now it was just a small triangular shaped colony along the St-Laurence
Name a legal change put in place with the Royal Proclamation.
The laws were changed to British Civil and Criminal laws.

The church was no longer aloud to collect a church tax and they were not aloud to replace the Bishop when he died.
