GI ML: 2 Flashcards
What are the four gastrointestinal hormones
gastrin, CCK, secretin, GIP
What kind of hormone are the gastrointestinal hormones?
peptide
What is the site of production of gastrin
antrum of stomach
What hormones are produced in the small intestine
CCK, Secretin, GIP
When is gastrin released
amino acids and peptides in stomach and parasymo nerves
What is CCK released
amino acids and fatty acids in small intestine
When is secretin released
acid in small intestine
What is GIP released
glucose and fat in small intestine
What factors inhibit gastrin
acid in stomach and somatostatn
What does gastrin stimulate
acid secretion and motility in stomach and stimulates ileum for motility in small intestinf and stimulates mass movement in LI
What does CCK inhibit
acid secretion and motility in stomach, spinchter of oddi (relaxes)
What does CCK stimulate
gallbladder, enzyme secretion in pancreas, increases affects of secretins actions in bicarb secretion in pancires and secretions actions on bile ducts in liver
What does secretin inhibit
acid secretion and motility in stomach
What does secretin stimulate
bile ducts in liver and bicarb secretion in pancreas and increased affects of CCK on enzyme secretion in pancreas
What is special about GIP
it is a feed forward hormone so it goes straight to pancreas and stimulates insulin and plasma so you dont get a big glucose spike
