1) Glucose Screening test:
a) No special diet before hand.
b) Drink Glucose soln and blood is drawn 1 hour later
c) If result is 140mg/dl it is normal all is good. If greater than 140 pt must return for
2) Oral Glucose Tolerance Test:
a) Fasting 8-12 before only sips of water allowed
b) Blood will be drawn before drinking 100g glucose soln
c) Blood will be drawn every 30-60 minutes for 3 hours

Answer 2

1) 24 to 28 weeks, earlier if high risk pt
2) 24 to 28 weeks only if Glucose screening test is greater than 140
