- The diseases often present atypically

Time-sequential deterioration that occurs in most living beings
What is the definition of ageism?
- Discriminating against individuals or groups because of their age
- Prejudicial attitudes towards older people
- Institutional practice and policies that persuade stereotypes

The tests and treatment should be made on ability to improve that particular patients prognosis or QOL

Measured with ADLs and IADLs

- Cognitive impairment

What is the functional performance of an organ dependent on?
- Rate of deterioration
- Level of performance needed
